All My Life

All My Life
Let me take you down to the river side
To the water's constant flow
Something in the air, feel it everywhere
Hold me as my fears begin to grow
Take a look around, see the turning tide
We are walking where the cold winds blow
I'd be so lost here without you
You alone can make my troubles go
But when you're near me
All my troubles fade
When you're here with me
All my worries fade away
The winds are changing, turning cold
Blowing strong and before long
Hopes are fading, life is growing cold
And what was right seems suddenly so wrong
But when I hold your hand and look into your eyes
See the sparkle of a million stars above
You give me a word, you give me a smile
Let me find a haven in the land of love
But when you're near me
All my troubles fade
When you're here with me
All my worries fade away
A fear like mad, a tear so sad
Hold me when the night is calling
Hold me when the rain is falling
Hold me, hold me, tonight
Feel your body here beside me
Out of the dark, into the light
Feel so safe inside, got a place to hide
Hold me in your arms tonight
Girl, I love you all my life
Taking comfort in the loving words you say
You will guide my way, you will light my day
You can make the dark times fade away
And when you're near me
All my troubles fade
When you're here with me
All my worries fade away
It ain't easy
But with you beside
We can make it right
Hold me tonight

Come What May

Come What May
Well into time we've shared
So many dreams together
So many ways compared
We're walking on together
And still I miss you
When I'm away from home
Still I long to be with you, when I'm on my own
Come what may
It's you I'm looking at
All I can say
It's as simple as that
You are all I need to feel alright
Do you still love me?
Do you still need me?
Do you still want me, still be with me today?
I still love you, it´s me who needs you so
I still want you, follow where you go
Come what may ...
Well into time we've shared
So many dreams together
So many ways compared
We're walking on together
And still I want to hold you
Take me through the night
And still I want to love you
And you to hold me tight
Come what may ...

Fly Away

Fly Away
When the wind silently enters the room
The night is bright, by a full moon
This is the time when dreams begin
I see your face before my eyes
I speak your name within my sighs
The memory of you is fading in
Fly away, fly away
My dreams go on a journey to you
Fly away, fly away
In my dreams I spend the night with you
I haven't seen you quite a while
You used to live in glam and style
While I did stalk the backyard
So strange to meet you face to face
Three mourning roses in a vase
Fly away, fly away
My dreams go on a journey to you
Fly away, fly away
In my dreams I spend the night with you

The Room
04:47

The Room
The rain pours down
On a dark and narrow road
As I lean out the window
To catch a breath of air
The shadow of a solitary man
In the light of a street lamp
Deep in his coat, vanishing in the night
As if he had never been there
I close the shutters to the world outside
Turn to the room where a candle burns inside
Stillness echoes from the bars and naked walls
A square box with two beds, narrow and small
A faceless room
In a nameless hotel
Where rumours bloom
And there are stories to tell
I start to wonder about the guests before
Were they passionate lovers down the core
Who filled the drearyness with lusty sighs
Midnight to daylight in a frantic mood
And the time too quickly went by
Were they lonesome and all alone
In a strange unknown world far away from home
The thoughts with their loved ones
wishing they were here
Finding only a fitful sleep after a couple of beers
Were they dubious elements inclined to a crime
Or joyful at cards idly passing the time
Stories of tragedies, of love and of hate
All in this room, and they will ever fade
Past midnight it is, in the small hours of night
The flickering candle casts a gloomy light
My thoughts find their way to a tired and weary rest
Another story added to the thoughts of another guest

North To Alaska

North to Alaska
The eerie moonlight falling on the quiet waters of the lake
Scattered clouds are mirrored in the undulating waves
The cold of night is creeping over water, shore and land
A wilderness is sleeping here beside me on the sand
A highway on the top of the mountains
The vallies where the Yukon meets the sky
Eternal peace dwells in these mountains
A moose is slowly passing by
Way up north
Where the northern light is shining
When the night is bright and cold
Way up north to Alaska
A mulicoloured range of mighty mountains
With Mount McKinley covered in eternal snow
A silvery pipeline from Prudhoe Bay down to Valdez
Where the innocence was buried in the sea
Way up north ...
A coastline shaped by pristine glaciers
An eagle over spoilt Prince William Sound
Ultimate beauty had once reigned here
Like it will never more be found
Way up north ...

That Was The Year That Was
That was the year that was
We sang too many last farewells
Thoughts and sympathies we tell
And worse, some more are still to come
Leaving daughters, leaving sons
Even the paper wings of the butterfly
Beat slower now and die.
That was the year that was
Sometimes you don't believe
In life and all that stuff
Sometimes when your journey leaves
For nightmares wild and rough
A friend is always on your side
Hope can call you from your hide
Even when the going gets tough
That was the year that was
I've seen the mornings come and go
Too many ships passing on their way
Too many weeks just waiting for the show
Only to hear the music fade away.
Only to see at the end of the day
You are moving on but what a way
That was the year that was
Sometimes you don't believe
In life and all that stuff
Sometimes when your journey leaves
For nightmares wild and rough
A friend is always on your side
Hope can call you from your hide
Even when the going gets tough
See – the scattered black of night
Hear – the promising whisper in the light
Feel – the winds that hold you
Lift you up and call you
Into tomorrow, where the rainbow's glory's shed.

Zimbabwe
Come with me tomorrow, stay with me today
The world is getting older and I’ve got no place to stay
I’ve been promised a land of my own
Where I could grow wheat and corn
But all I’ve got in my hands s this promise of this old man
Are you still my brother? Did you become my foe?
We're born of the same mother. Why is it no longer so?
We’ve been promised a future for too long
Now we’ve lost both dance and song
Our country's dying in free fall
The writing is on the wall
When I was young everything was so simple and right
It was good against bad, the Blacks against the Whites
We believed in a cause for which it was worth to fight
But all of a sudden this day has turned to night
I no longer know who is wrong and who is right
I am stumbling on because I’m ordered to fight.
Come with me today, stay with me tomorrow
Share with me my way, then share with me my sorrow
A fear is growing in me that there's nothing left to be
Sunset on a dying land
Our future drowning in the sand

October Gold

October Gold
The mists of morning hide the rising sun
The days get shorter and with every minute run
The memory of summer fades away
The autumn colors mark the day
But still a scene of endless grace
Of harmony in time and space
The worldly stage so lovely to behold
Dressed to the nines in sweet October Gold
And on this stage I walk the miles
Life is so good, life is all smiles
How can there ever be a doubt
How can a voice shout out loud
It is not so it is not fair
There is not sunshine everywhere
When all the stories often told
Do always praise October Gold
The air is colder now, the sky is bluer now
People reap the harvest they have sown
Today the clouds darken my sky
The stormy winds I hear them cry
And rain that covers the brightest light
Behind a curtain black as night
The cosy promises stripped bare
Illusion shattered and I'm aware
It's just a fairy story often told
There's no such thing, October Gold

Holiday On Mars

Holiday on Mars
Each generation has its vision
Without a dream night would fall
However strange the mission
We are ready, waiting for the call
We are the ones, we are the doers
What nobody has ever done before
With our spirit that’s for sure
We take the opportunity on every shore
The chances of somebody coming to Mars
Are a million to one
We’ll find our way to the stars
And we will come
Look up to the stars
Let's set sail for the last frontier
Spacewards we must steer
We're ready for a trip to the stars
We're dreaming of a Holiday on Mars.
We don’t care if life collects its toll
We’ll find the path with eyes like an eagle
With spirits high along we stroll
We’re not as blind as a beagle.
We’ll take it as a stepping stone
A small step for mankind
The outer planets far away from home
The challenge for our kind
The chances of somebody coming to Mars
Are a million to one
We’ll find our way to the stars
And we will come
Look up to the stars
Let's set sail for the last frontier
Spacewards we must steer
We're ready for a trip to the stars
We're dreaming of a Holiday on Mars.

Africa In My Heart

Africa In My Heart
A deep red sun over an endless plain
No barriers as far as the eye can see
In my hands the coloured grain
In my mind pictures of a clear blue sky
Africa in my heart
Africa in my heart
And the fire keeps on burning
A blood red horizon exploding in light
The dew of morning watering the day
Through my hands the flames so bright
Before my eyes the dawning of a brand new day
Africa in my heart
Africa in my heart
And the fire keeps on burning
And as the sun goes down the voices rise
Is it close, is it far, no one can tell
Guided by a cross under Southern skies
Could it be heaven, or could it be hell?
A pale blue eye in the silent night
Shadows moving slowly across the ground
In my hands all the world around
In my mind the fire burns so bright
Africa in my heart
Africa in my heart
And the fire keeps on burning
