Wrong time, wrong place (Holy Dam) Sitting round the fire In a five star noble hotel The warmth and the drinks Make you feel so well Intellectual farting with the stomach full Is the glass half empty or is it half full? Born on the bright side of life No need to struggle to survive Right time right place You're the chosen race Sitting round the fire On a cold and dirty ground No electricity no clean water Only hunger and disease around And the fools keep on talking The blind lead the blind The forgotten ones keep on walking Food or water to find Born on the bright side of life No need to struggle to survive Right time right place You're the chosen race Born on the dark side of life For ever struggling to survive Wrong time, wrong place You' re the forgotten race Lyrics: Hans-Jürgen Friedrich Music: Wolfgang Mai Copyright © by Hans-Jürgen Friedrich, 08.06.2007

Living on the borderline There’s a stranger drawing near I can feel him coming I can see him running But I cannot look into his eyes I can watch him coming near I can smell him, he’s coming I can hear him, he’s running But I dare not listen to his sighs So here I am living on the borderline Alone in my own world without any exit sign There’s a secret deep within him I am curious to find out but I dare not Dig too deep inside him lest I don’t find my way out On the other hand how am I to understand If I don’t go for the goal what have I to choose What have I to lose nothing but my soul. So here’s the stranger Arrived at the borderline His face looks familiar Can it be a friend of mine Do I know him Have I seen him before I don't know if I want him, standing there at my door Shall I want him to enter Shall I want him to go Don't touch me, don't stay leave me but don't go away

Sunday 04:33
Sunday Morning sun shines in my room and a bird sings on a wire. I’m alone but I am blessed dwelling on my thoughts and rest. Sun-shine on a sun-day morning. Jewish soul. The singer sings: Tried in my way to be free. Nearby the old church bell rings. Sun-day paintings on the wall. Sun-day colours in my heart. Bless the Lord on holy day. Find some clumsy words to pray. Sunshine yellow warms my skin. Orange morning light floods in. Brown and pink the spaces grow surrounded still by springtime snow. Silence in an early hour cleans the temple of my mind. Night went and the bad dreams gone. Peace’s reflecting in the sun. This morning with its newborn light is changing mourning into white. God’s faithfulness will have no end, to him my song of praise ascend. Dedicated to and inspired by ArtGenossin Kriemhild. Inspired too by Mark Rothko, Leonard Cohen and Johannes Zwick.

If Only I Could See If only I could see What will be This day next year Time is moving fast Nothing’s going to last I can see it right here The world has been changing Each time the sun is woken Every piece of news is ageing Before it’s even spoken You are the constant in my life You’re simply there and help me to survive You are the rock in the surge You are the comfort in my dirge You, You are love If only I would know Where do we go? On our way from here No-one seems to care Life is a fair Who cares what’s in a year Day and night, black and white Simplistic life in the flashlight On and on, no turning back, Closed eyes can’t see the track You are the constant in my life You’re simply there and help me to survive You are the rock in the surge You are the comfort in my dirge You, You are love Copyright © 2002 by Hans-Jürgen Friedrich (21.08.2002)

Last Chance To See The stage is ready, drowned in light The rising curtain yields a sight Where the actors are prepared for The final countdown of the show We conquer the earth, exploit what is worth We just think of us alone, We kill the land and with our hands, We destroy our homes And as we clear the ground from the deer Only small places left to be Where we have the last chance to see We kill the fauna, we kill the life all around We kill the flora, we kill the world all around Human gene machine to spoil the sacred dream Where we have the last chance to see The stage is getting bleak and deserted The last curtain is about to fall And when the final lights have faded No-one`s waiting for the curtain call We kill the trees and poison seas We forget we`re not alone On our planet, we dont`t get it That we share a home And as we clear the ground from the deer Only small places left to be Where we have the last chance to see We kill the fauna, we kill the life all around We kill the flora, we kill the world all around Human gene machine to spoil the sacred dream Where we have the last chance to see We kill us Alle Rechte bei den Autoren. One Wish (Love Is The Cure) Where do we belong Where do we come from What will be left after all the years Will someone wash away the tears I cannot explain Why there is grief, why there is pain But what I know for sure Love is the cure I don´t know what life is all about My sister´s called fear, my brother doubt If there´s a god, where does he live Will he find reasons to forgive I cannot explain Why there is grief, why there is pain But what I know for sure Love is the cure Is there life after death When will I draw my last breath One wish before I close my eyes You hold my hand, forgive me for my lies I cannot explain Why there is grief, why there is pain But what I know for sure Love is the cure Music and Lyrics: Wolfgang Mai

Road Of Life 04:49
Road of Life Sometimes a wonder even happens to a realist I do believe in dreams confirms the optimist The mere thought alone can spoil the day of a pessimist What if I were God, speculates the atheist No matter who you are Nothing but a shooting star On the eternal Road of Life You've got no other chance, so take it You have no time, don't waste it Don't move today into tomorrow Not a second you can borrow When the day is done And the race is run Sometimes your road is leading to a dead end Sometimes you simply need a helping hand One day you'll mourn the loss of a dear friend Sometimes you're hoping for a wonder, heaven sent No matter who you are Nothing but a shooting star On the eternal Road of life You've got no other chance, so take it You have no time, don't waste it Don't move today into tomorrow Not a second you can borrow When the day is done And the race is run Do you Dream your life Or live your dreams On the eternal Road of Life? Land Of Fire And Ice I made my way along the coast The sky above, the incredible light The empty spaces, the endless miles The million waterfalls, a brilliant sight Spots of red and blue in a sea of green I passed the cottages along my way Looked back from a mountain top To the boats down in the bay There’s a cold wind blowing As we keep on going Through the land of Fire and Ice See the water falling Hear the glacier calling In the land of Fire and Ice. Riding on a boat to see the whales Drifting on a sea of glaciers A different world that you inhale Full of fairy little creatures Even with the sun the air is cool On my skin the geyser’s spray Relax and unwind in a hot pool. The polar lights at the end of the day I’m standing on the new world and the old I can almost grasp the silence in the air Where the Gods of old Play on the fairies’ fair. Some things never change I’ve seen a man sitting in front of a shack Whiskey bottles filled with gas on a rack With a friendly smile trying to make a few bucks To better the life into which he is stuck Busloads of tourist for a quick picture shot Hurrying back to the air con, it’s far too hot I can’t hardly believe these things that I’ve seen Feels like walking in a bad dream Glamour here and utterly poverty there Comfort only in many a prayer Everywhere the same, ain’t it strange Some things never change. A step away it’s just another place A hundred frown lines painting a mother’s face With Daddy gone how can she make ends meet With all the hungry mouths she has to feed Begging from the traveller who just takes a shot He never cares he hides in his lot I can’t hardly believe... A moment of sympathy before we go on Nothing to linger, nothing to hold on But you don’t have to go far to see the night Just outside the corner, by the river side Searching for shelter at the stations or in the parks The shadows gather, nameless life after dark Hopeless paths on which they trod Our left-overs thrown away to rot I can’t hardly believe... A Summer's tale Angie made another small step today But totally failed to move on down the way And Eddie was gone with the storm The country all tattered and torn We need to go on, we've stayed far too long On trodden ground We cannot stay, we must find a way Turn life around We must make a start, so let us depart Away from the end of the road The summer's tale stirred the soul of us all A flag unfurled on every steeple Cloaked in a shroud that now, come fall, Unveils a decadent, morbid people We need to go on, we've stayed far too long On trodden ground We cannot stay, we must find a way Turn life around We must make a start, so let us depart Away from the end of the road The dream has turned into a nightmare so fast The summer's tale is a thing of the past The soft sea spray the morning sun The summer wind life's just begun We have it all in our hands To give life a chance.

All My Life Let me take you down to the river side To the water's constant flow Something in the air, feel it everywhere Hold me as my fears begin to grow Take a look around, see the tuming tide We are walking where the cold winds blow I'd be so lost here without you You alone can make my troubles go But when you're near me All my troubles fade When you're here with me All my worrles fade away The winds are changing, tuming cold Blowing strong and before long Hopes are fading, life is growing cold And what was right seems suddenly so wrong But when I hold your hand and look into your eyes I see the sparkle of a million stars above You give me a word, you give me a smile Let me find a haven in the land of love But when you're near me ... A fear like mad, a tear so sad Hold me when the night is calling Hold me when the rain is falling Hold me, hold me, tonight Feel your body here beside me Out of the dark, into the light Feet so safe inside, got a place to hide Hold me in your arms tonight Boy, I love you all my life Taking comfort in the loving words you say You will guide my way, you will light my day You can make the dark times fade away And when you're near me... It ain't easy, but with you beside We can make it rlght Hold me tonight Musik: Wolfgang Mai, Lyrics: Hans-Jürgen Friedrich. Alle Rechte bei den Autoren. MayflowerMusic 2006

St. Patrick‘s Blessing May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face And until we meet again May God hold you in the hollow of your hand Lyrics: traditional Music: Wolfgang Mai

Bitter and Bent You won`t waste a smile on people you meet You won`t lend a hand when someone`s in need You don`t do a favour, you don`t help me out You don`t open doors, when I come running around You don`t ask for friendship, you don`t ask for treats I don`t know if you have a heart that beats There`s no love in you, just cold blooded hate So bitter the mind, always cursing your fate Bitter and bent Another day wasted, a whole life spent On the eve of your days Through all the twisted ways You are what you always have been Bitter and bent You have come a long way, always on a straight line A step aside always considered a waste of time You buried your feelings in a burglar-proof safe You buried your heart in the deepest and darkest cave On the eve of your day You will always remain You are what you have been You will stay the same Bitter and bent You find a fly in the ointment of most everything You deeply dispise the joy that fun and humour bring You scream and shout, you curse and swear So bitter the mind, so hard for you to bear You spend your life in the night You switch out every little light All alone against the rest of man But you don`t give a damn! about

In the good tradition of the Mayflower Wolfgang Mai and his crew on board of their ship go on a journey beyond the known borders of our world, exploit the great unknown, only to find that everywhere we go, joy and pain, hope and frustration are mixed in the same strange, inexplicable way, but never losing the faith that in the end love will always win.
